Mint Chocolate Puppy Chow
Puppy Chow or Muddy Buddies? Never quite sure! Maybe it’s named Puppy Chow since it’s as incredible as a puppy?! At any rate, here’s a different take on the classic midwestern holiday snack, Mint Chocolate Puppy Chow! The problem is that you can’t stop eating this amazing-ness!!
It is easy to make in a few simple steps. Mint Chocolate Puppy Chow is so quick to make, with great common ingredients found in your pantry.
To make the Mint Chocolate Puppy Chow, carefully place the rice cereal in a large bowl. The rice cereal breaks easily, so be very gentle when handling at each stage.
In a medium bowl, place 3/4 of a cup of both the chocolate mint chips and the dark chocolate chips in the microwave for 30 seconds at a time. Stirring in between until the chips are fully melted.
Pour the melted chocolate over the cereal and gently mix together with a spatula, taking care not to break apart the cereal.
In a large zip bag, add the confectioners' sugar and unsweetened cocoa (it will mix together). Spoon the cereal mixture into the bag. Tightly zip the bag. Gently shake the bag until all the cereal is coated. Allow to cool in the bag for 15 minutes. Place in a bowl or gift box. Add the remaining mint and chocolate chips and sprinkles before serving or packaging.
